Someone shared some Christmas tips with me the other day. These are for all of us who want to keep the spirit of Christmas. What were they? Here are a few of them: You can have the best Christmas ever when you have realistic expectations, spend time with people that love you and do things that connect you with other people.
We have a holiday worship schedule today and again on January 1 (next Sunday). My apologies for the confusing announcement of the Sunday morning schedule for January 1, 2017. No Sunday School or Adult Bible Fellowships today or next Sunday. Our Sunday morning schedule will be back to our regular times with Adult Bible Fellowships at 9:30 and worship at 10:45 on January 8th.
How did we spell Christmas at our Christmas Eve Service last evening? You will have to check our Facebook page for the people and words that were shared. (Facebook C.G.B.C.).
Al-anon support group meetings are getting organized in our area with the plan to meet here on our church campus. Interested? Please let Oralia in the church office know of your interest. Or speak with me.
We purchased a nativity set for our front yard this year and set it out on the corner of our house. The recent winds we have had in our area knocked the manger and baby Jesus and his mother to the ground several times. Each time one of the family fell down I put them back in place. There was Joseph and Mary and the baby Jesus and the manger and then there was a wooden frame with the star of Bethlehem on top. I went out in the front yard several days ago and discovered someone had come by during the previous evening and taken one of the pieces with them. Guess which one…..not the baby Jesus and not Joseph. Yes, they took the star of Bethlehem.
We prepared a special Christmas video greeting for our very own Angie Garcia on December 18th. A group of you gals shared it with her that afternoon.
Our Wednesday prayer meetings are on holiday schedule this coming week and will resume on January 4th.
Our message to you today is WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT CHRISTMAS? Tim Ramos and I will be sharing from Scripture with you.
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Richard
